life outside of the cube

about. May 7, 2010

Sarah was born in San Francisco, California. Thanks to the Navy, shortly after she was born her family moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia. Sarah loved growing up surrounded by beaches and mountains, taking road trips up and down the East Coast, and spending summers in California with extended family.

After high school, Sarah moved to a suburb of northern Atlanta, Georgia (Alpharetta to be exact), where she attended college and received her B.S. in Network Communications Management. She moved back to Virginia Beach in 2003, where she gained a new respect for the place she grew up in. After living all of her life on the East Coast, Sarah decided it was time for a change.  She packed up her car, drove cross country, and moved back to California.

Sarah comes from a technology, finance, and hospitality world.  Her corporate technology & finance background has given her experience in telecom auditing, financial analysis, project management, and web design.  Her hospitality background allows her to fulfill her social, event planning, and party hosting cravings.  Her combination of background and skill has led her to work for corporate giants such as McKesson, Gap Inc, and SAIC.  Always looking for ways to think outside of the box, Sarah enjoys combining her experience to empower others to be efficient, effective, and productive.

Outside of work, Sarah loves exploring new destinations, restaurants, activities, and dreaming about opening a restaurant with her fiancé husband.  Sarah is also passionate about spending time with family and friends, lounging with their two cats – Snuggle & Petey, the beach, and photographing what she’s eating or drinking.

For Sarah, “Life’s greatest memories are celebrated in food, drink, and travel.”  eat.drink.{sarah} was established May 2010, however; the foundation was established years and years ago.  Always keeping an active journal and having her camera within reach, Sarah has been documenting her memories since the age of 7.  Before the term blog was ever coined, she has been going through the motions.

Fast forward 20-something years, in her recent move out of the box, Sarah decided it was time to combine her years of actions with today’s technological advances and start blogging.
